Hey! I haven’t posted anything in ages and I wanted to share my renditions of some of the famous paintings in history. I wanted to start this photo set last year following the positive feed backs I got from my ‘Creation of Adam’ photo (included below). I had some setbacks but now I finally have three photographs to get this photo series started. I hope y’all like them and wont think I’m too weird. lol
The angel part was tricky but I like the results. The role of Venus in this concept put me into a lot of thought because… I don’t wanna pose nude! Thankfully, I have this seashell to cover my unmentionables.
This one is kind of a throwback. I made this around October last year and it made me think that I should start a photo set inspired from famous artworks. I never got to create that project.. until now. With this photo, I wanted to stray away from the original concept (again, I don’t wanna pose nude) and made it a little silly. It’s also a reflection of who I was. A cosmic slacker!
This one is a bit personal to me because this is how I expressed the insecurity that I felt during the time that I shot and processed this. It felt good to channel all that insecurity about my flaws into this photo. If the world found beauty in the demented nature of Picasso’s portraits then I hope we can all find something positive in other people’s flaws.
Last month, I spent my 20th birthday at the beautiful city of Bremen, the oldest city in Germany. I never expected to have a great birthday considering the fact that it’s my first to be away at home. I went out and about the historic city with my fellow cadet, Jester and Sir Christian our Junior 3rd Officer. Huge thanks to Tita Leonor for being our tour guide. You rock!
Part I | The City
I didn’t have enough time to get ready but I’m glad how my outfit turned out despite me chasing time. lol
This is the Stadtmusikanten. This image is very iconic in Bremen City. There’s a local tale about this bizarre animal combo but I forgot about it.This particular sculpture is very well known for it is believed to grant wishes. As a foreigner (and on my birthday), it is only appropriate to make not one but 20 wishes!
Me getting friendly with the locals. lol
Part II | The Candy Shop
Part III | The Bremen Schnoor
This part of the city is a tourist hotspot. This is where houses dated from the 17th century still stand.
Disturbing toys…. But I have to admit they are pretty cool!
This is a stature of St. Johann. According to local legend, every October on his feast day, people would gather around and offer flowers, food and beer around the statue. It said that when people forget to do so, The statue angrily frowns.
Somebody had a little too much to drink last night..
Ice rain for like, 10 minutes. Yup those are real ice particles
This one is from Brake City (also in Germany) I’m not good at making conclusions at the end of every blog post so.. yeah. Ich Liebe Deutsland!
The Captain,Chief Engineer,Engine Fitter,Chief Cook and me went out last night to an all you can eat buffet resto called V Starhere in Houston, Texas. The food lacked variety unfortunately but the the place was rich in sushi. I must’ve looked silly (I just used the word silly. ugh) while taking photos with a plate on my other hand.. Anyway, let the sushi showdown begin!
looks like we have a winner for this sushi showdown. Arigato Gozaimasu!
I got to spend 2 days in a hotel in Rotterdam,Holland before embarking on board the ship for my 1 year cadetship. It’s my first time to go out of the country so it’s very exciting. I won’t go on full detail so here are the photos from day 1.
